Information we collect from you

When you request a quote through this site, we collect the information you provide: your name, email address, and phone number if you give one. To place coverage on a building, we also collect details about the property — the address, the number of units, when the building was built, its construction, and any prior loss history. We collect this to price a quote and to place insurance.

Automatic information

When you visit realumbrella.com, our servers record standard technical information generated by your browser: IP address, user-agent, page URL, and referring URL. We use this for site operations — performance, error handling, abuse detection — and retain it in ordinary server logs.

We do not currently run product analytics, advertising trackers, or session-replay tools on realumbrella.com. If we add any, this policy will be updated in the same release that adds them.

Address autocomplete

The address field on our quote form uses Google Maps address autocomplete. Text you type in that field is sent to Google to return suggestions. Your use of that feature is subject to Google's privacy policy and terms of service. The text reaches Google before we receive it; we do not intermediate.

How we share it

Placing insurance requires sending the information you provide to third parties. Specifically:

• Carriers, wholesalers, and general agencies we work with — so they can quote and issue coverage. These parties handle the information for insurance underwriting, quoting, placement, and any resulting policy servicing.
• Service providers who host our site, database, and email — so we can operate. They handle information on our behalf, for those specific purposes only.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information for third-party marketing.

How long we keep it

California insurance recordkeeping obligates us to retain insurance-transaction records for periods set by state law and carrier requirements. We retain intake and policy-related information for those periods. Server logs and other purely operational data are retained for a shorter period tied to operational need.

Your choices

You may ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Requests should go to the email address below. We will confirm identity before acting. Deletion may be limited by the insurance recordkeeping obligations described above.

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect the information we hold. No system can guarantee security. If you believe your information has been compromised through our site, contact us.

Changes

We may update this policy. When we do, we will update the date at the top and post the current version at this URL.
